Grant Calton
After a brief, and largely non-illustrious (!), stint as a singer and sax player in the late 70’s, Grant commenced his business career as a talent agent, initially establishing his own company before merging with the Station Agency where he worked with artists including Men at Work, Madness, Thompson Twins, Echo & the Bunnymen and Phil Collins.
Moving to Australia in 1986, he launched and managed a series of music and media companies, including magazine publisher City Life, Mighty Boy Records, GLD Music and Avviso Public Relations. In 1997, he launched the Australasian operation of the music TV network The Box which he operated until its sale to MTV in 1999. That same year he joined the board of a US internet television start-up where he was Senior VP of Content and Carriage. Returning to Europe in 2000, he became MD of MBA Corporate Solutions, a boutique corporate finance and strategy business in the media sector; in 2004 he was asked to join Moore, Clayton & Co, a US private equity group, where he consults on media projects. He is also a founder and director of EBTM Ltd (www.ebtm.com) an online retailer of music and fashion merchandise.
Grant is the business one.
