Alive – the EP will be released in late February.
More Info:
Karen made an early entrée into the world of showbiz when she was handpicked by Bill Cosby to star alongside him in a TV commercial for Jell-O at the age of six. Karen was born in Shillong at the foot of the Himalayas and raised in Toronto, Canada, by a half Chinese mother and a father from Madras.
After attending the Berklee College Of Music in Boston to study jazz and gospel, she moved to London in 1997, to study at the Guildford School of Acting where she met Benny Andersson who asked her to join the original cast of Mamma Mia.
Not long after this, a meeting with AR Rahman led to her working with him on the songs for Bombay Dreams as well as a role in the sell-out US and Canada tour. This was the start of a friendship that has led to Karen writing and recording with AR Rahman at his Panchathan Record Inn studios in Chennai, India and now their co-composition and performance on her new EP release.
